Service at TGIF
Gotta cross the TGIF restaurant by my place of employment off the list of after work eateries. I met my girlfriend after work and we decided to stop off for dinner and a couple of drinks. When we got there it was about 6pm on a Friday so we expected the place to be relatively busy. When we entered the restaurant we were immediately seated and just as we had expected a lot of the people from the office complex must have stopped in for happy hour because the place was pretty crowded. My girlfriend and I must have been engaged in a pretty good conversation because when I finally looked at my watch I realized we had been seated for a full 20 minutes without anyone having taken our order. At that point our conversation turned to how long we had been sitting there waiting to be served. My chair was facing the back of the restaurant so I could see about six or so of the staff standing back there joking around and not doing their jobs. I decided I would give it a few more minutes, just because I wasn’t all that hungry and the company I was with was good. Finally I decided to walk back there and asked if anyone was going to take my order.
So in total I waited over 30 minutes from the time I entered until my order was taken. I wonder what my buddy Ed (who manages the place but wasn’t there on Friday) is going to say when I tell him about it. Hopefully I will get a free meal or two out of the deal.
