Parmesan Crusted Fried Green Tomatos
These fried green tomatoes are great as an appetizer or a side dish. They are really easy to make require very little cooking time and cleanup is a breeze. You probably have most of the ingredients already in your pantry. Most likely you will only have to run out to pick up the actual tomatoes and corn meal since the rest of the ingredients should be staples in any home. When you are finished you should have firm and delicious Parmesan Crusted Fried Green Tomatoes. Enjoy

3 Medium Green Tomatoes sliced about 1/4 inch thick
1/4 cup of cornmeal
1/4 cup of Grated Parmesan Cheese
2 tablespoons of All-Purpose Flour
3/4 Teaspoon of Garlic Salt
1/2 Teaspoon of Dried Oregano
1/2 Teaspoon of Dried Basil
1/8 Teaspoon of Freshly Cracked Pepper
1 Egg Beaten
1/4 Cup of Vegetable Oil
- Lightly Sprinkle Tomatoes with Salt
- Allow tomatoes to drain on paper towels for about half an hour
- While tomatoes are draining combine cornmeal, Parm, Flour, Garlic Salt, Basil, Oregano and Pepper on a shallow dish
- Dip each Tomato Slice into the seasoning mixture carefully covering the entire tomato
- Heat oil in a skillet on medium-high
- Fry tomatoes a few at a time for two minutes each side or until golden brown
- Drain on a paper towel-lined rack
- serve warm
