Solving a Cash Flow Problem (for students)

Now that school is out and we are in between semesters, one of the big events for college students is the buying and selling of textbooks. I remember when I was in college I used to look forward to selling my books back as it would give me some much-needed cash. However, as time went on I noticed that the business of selling back books had gotten cutthroat. The campus bookstore was not offering nearly as much money as they used to. That was in the 90s and to the best of my understanding things are even worse now. Luckily in the year 2009 there are numerous other alternatives to your campus bookstore.

A friend of mine has a daughter who asked me about selling back textbooks online, so pointed her in the right direction. She had three books which needed to be sold, the campus bookstore offered her a total of $23. Instead she chose to sell them online which ended up getting her a total of $137. The moral of the story is a simple one, just because the campus bookstore is the most well known place to sell books it probably isn’t the best place to sell your books.
