Entering and Exiting the Holiday Season

Finally Christmas is upon us. This really is my favorite time of year as I get to spend time with the family. I also like how it means the end of the busy season at work, which leads into my yearly spring vacation. Normally I try to head to the Caribbean but this year we have some friends that are taking a family vacation to Disney. Although I love visiting the white sand beaches of the Southern Caribbean, I’ve never been to Disney World. As long as I can find affordable disney hotels that match our criteria it is something that I will consider.

My Holiday Plan of Attack

I did one heck of a job Christmas shopping this year. I did most of my shopping online and buy taking advantage of various promotions and coupons I was able to save a lot of money. While I did make one major purchase on Black Friday, oddly enough my best savings were found after Cyber Monday had concluded. I guess after the initial rush stores had to get creative in order to keep the momentum going. Now that I have developed a sort of system I should really be able to clean up next year.

For instance I may hit the Amazon.com lightning deals next Black Friday and Cyber Monday, while also keeping an idea on what they are doing over at Newegg and Best Buy. That strategy allows me to simultaneously hit a multitude of stores. Once that buying period is over and the crowds die down that is when I’ll hit the physical stores armed with gap coupons 2012 and friends and family discounts at some other stores. I have never been much of a shopper but my inner “field general” really does love the idea of formulating a holiday shopping season plan of attack.
