The workplace potluck revisited
Yeah so the workplace potluck that I had been dreading took place this past week. Much as I had imagined there were all sorts of strange and interesting foods from around the world. Being that I work in a pretty diverse place I would say there was about a dozen or so countries represented. I chose to bring a Spanish version of stuffed shells which is really interesting considering I am not even the slightest bit Spanish. I ended up being pleasantly suprised by some of the foods and puzzled by others. If I had to make a choice I would say the best were the homemade eggrolls made by my friend from Laos. The scariest was a quiche, not because it had unusual ingredients but because it didn’t look even the slightest bit appealing. In any case there was something for everyone. Luckily enough people that I trust participated that it didn’t look like I was excluding anyones food for any reason other than not having enough room on my plate. It turned out to be a good time and most importantly I survived without being exposed as the food-snob that I am.
