Tailgate Time

This Monday night when the Pittsburgh Steelers face off against the Baltimore Ravens I will be present at my first pro football game of the year. I’m pretty excited about going to a Monday night game since I have never been to one. I would imagine that intensity will be turned up a couple of notches with tailgating beginning relatively early in the day.

If you have never been tailgating let me tell you sausages and pierogies taste better in the parking lot of your teams stadium than anywhere else in the world. I especially like how every group of friends has a different batch of “parking lot” cuisine cooking and most are eager to share. If you bring enough food to trade and have a friendly smile you can turn a pre-game tailgate into quite the cultural smorgasbord. I only wish I could get to more games but since I no longer live in the area getting away from work isn’t always convenient. Too bad I can’t quit my job buy a bus and start my own tailgate themed food show.
