What is a Monkey La La?
Todays drink comes to you from Honduras. I had it during a stop at the cruise port of Roatan (pronounced Roe-a-tan) last year. It was smooth and refreshing while also providing a bit of a kick. Although in my part of the world it will soon be too cold to even think about drinking a slushy drink on the beach, I can always crank up the heat and pretend. The best part of all is you don’t have to worry about a passport or customs. So here is the recipe for this drink named after a small lizard that inhabits this little island off the coast of Honduras.
Monkey La La
1oz. Kahlua
2 oz. cream of coconut
1 scoop of vanilla ice cream (or 4 oz. milk plus cup of ice)
